History Lesson..

Ft. Kat's Korner @ DaeDreamz and Boomerang @ Shop Hop & Unicorn Cupcake @ Playroom and DaeDreamz.

History Lesson

Did you ever wonder where preschool started in the United States?

It was created as a program called Head Start in 1965 by President Johnson. It was  a half day program, for preschool aged children from low-income families.  It started as a pilot program in the Summer, and included education, nutrition and health screenings, and support services for families.

There was a lack of funding in the 80's resulting in states starting their own programs.  In 2005 69% of four year olds participated in some type of preschool.  A large reason for this increasing percentage of preschoolers was the growing maternal employment rate. More Mom's went to work!

It has since been proven that preschool results in greater brain development. So this means our heads are getting bigger!

Izzy and Kael are off to preschool in style!

A lot of their day is spent learning about numbers and letters. They eat healthy snacks, and get to play a lot. They have made new friends and practice sharing and have to say please and thank you! They will continue to learn how important kindness is and will start to get used to a schedule and routine. They will get naps.  And mostly they will get their first experience to realize how great weekends are!

They have a long way to go before they know everything, but they will get there.

School has started! See you mighta learned something from them already!
